Freedom in software!!!

It all started with Richard Matthew Stallman starting the GNU project in 1983, to create a free Unix like operating system. With the launch of the GNU Project he started the free software movement, and in October 1985 set up the Free Software Foundation.

The Free Software Foundation (FSF) is a non-profit corporation. It mainly supports the GNU project. It also maintains many of the documents that define the free software movement, like the GNU General Public Licence (GPL).

The GNU General Public License is a free, copyleft license for software and other kinds of works.

The licenses for most software and other practical works are designed to take away your freedom to share and change the works. By contrast, the GNU General Public License is intended to guarantee your freedom to share and change all versions of a program--to make sure it remains free software for all its users.the Free Software Foundation, use the GNU General Public License for most of its software. You can apply it to your programs, too.
